Position: Processing Manager

Location: Milford, IN

Reports To: MLS Plant Manager

Position Duties:

  • Manage plant production processes while leading Supervision to include Safety, product Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance support and sanitation functions.
  • Provide and develop leadership for succession.
  • Responsible for managing production schedules and working cross functionally with Planning, Sales, Accounting, R&D, Distribution and Growout.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance in process and via reporting. Interpret and present results when requested.
  • Participate in plant planning and project management. Research vendors and equipment options when delegated.
  • Participate in budgeting process by analyzing data and anticipating future expenses.
  • Maintain effective relationships with USDA, ensuring regulatory requirements are consistently met.
  • Work with QA management on quality and food safety issues as well as preventive action for HACCP issues.
  • Support plant maintenance by troubleshooting equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Manage expenses and supplies inventories as assigned.
  • Work with Human Resources to address and resolve employee relations, contractual and disciplinary issues.
  • Participate in departmental and other meetings when required, and work in committees, steering groups, etc
  • Perform related duties as required.


  • Requires 8-10 years of progressively responsible management experience in the food industry. Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, preferably in poultry evisceration and packaging. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, USDA, OSHA requirements, HACCP regulations, employee handbook, union contract, company policies; as well as demonstrated communication skills.
